Peter Shaw is an Irish artist who specialis es in watercolours. He trained as a teacher in N. Ireland and graduated in 1997, winning the final year Art and Design prize. Since then he has been working as a full time teacher. Peter has also been painting and selling his work for the past 25 years. Peter writes , ‘ Like so many artists, light is the greatest gu iding factor in what attracts me to a particular scene. I love the ordinary, the everyday little pockets of life; the corner of a field, a snowbank, the light on the water or a simple, white wall. It is what you personally see in a particular subject, what you ca n bring to it as an artist , th at will give it a life of its own. Watercolour is a f antastically atmospheric medium. It helps me illuminate the everyday. ’
