Our collection of cassette removal tools and freewheel removal tools are designed for removal and installation. Note: A cassette slides on the hub. If there's a lock-ring on the end of your smallest sprocket, then it's most likely a cassette, A freewheel threads onto the hub. The removal process is different between the two. For cassette removal you'll need a cassette removal tool and a chain whip. For freewheel removal, you don't need a chain whip.
