In the countryside of Saga Prefecture, Kawasaki Blacksmith has been serving the community for over 100 years, crafting and repairing agricultural tools and handmade Japanese kitchen knives . Twenty-five years ago, Kawasaki-san left his office job to carry on his family’s blacksmithing legacy, and four years ago his nephew Mizokami-san joined him, leaving his government position to work at the forge. Together, they not only preserve their own family tradition but also honor the legacy of other blacksmiths in the region, forging each knife with exceptional care, sharpness, and authenticity.
