Tracing its roots to the mid-Edo period, Rizaemon Kiln has carried on a pottery tradition in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture for thirteen generations. While most makers in Hasami focus on porcelain, Rizaemon creates earthenware entirely in-house, from clay preparation to firing. Blending inherited skills with a modern sense of warmth and form, the kiln crafts tableware that deepens in character through everyday use.
