The blacksmiths use hard steel because it keeps an edge much longer than a normal axe, and it can take a much sharper edge without sacrificing any edge retention. A sharp axe is a safe axe, so when your axe finally dulls, be sure to bring it to us for sharpening. The first time is on us. Finally, take care of your axe, and your axe will take care of you.
