About

JST SCN 2.5mm Board-In Cable Assemblies The JST SCN series is a 2.5mm pitch board-in crimp connector rated for 3A per contact and 250V AC/DC. Unlike conventional wire-to-board connectors, the SCN housing inserts directly into PCB through-holes — no separate PCB header required. This eliminates a BOM component, reduces assembly height, and removes the header soldering step from the production process. UL Recognized (file E60389), RoHS2 compliant. Housing material: PA-95, UL94V-0. Available in ivory, black, red, and yellow for color-coded multi-connector assemblies. Cable Types Available Single-Headed Cables — SCN housing on one end, bare tinned leads on the other; for direct PCB board-in connection Same-Side-Head Cables — SCN housing on both ends, contacts facing the same direction; for wire-to-wire board-in applications Reverse-Side-Head Cables — SCN housing on both ends, contacts facing opposite directions; for reversed-orientation board-in connections Key Specifications Pitch: 2.5mm | Pin count: 2 to 16 pins Wire: 22AWG UL1007 PVC, UL-certified Current: 3A per contact | Voltage: 250V AC/DC Temperature: -25°C to +85°C PCB thickness: 1.6mm (standard terminal SCN-001T-P1.0) PCB hole: φ1.0mm (+0.05/-0.00) UL recognized: E60389 | RoHS2 compliant Housing colors: Ivory / Black / Red / Yellow Board-In vs Conventional Wire-to-Board No PCB header required — housing inserts directly into PCB holes Lower assembly height — housing sits flush at board level Reduced BOM cost — one fewer component to source and solder 4 housing colors — ivory, black, red, yellow for mis-mating prevention Not interchangeable with JST XH — different connection architecture Common Applications VCR, car stereo, and consumer audio internal wiring Home appliance wiring where BOM cost reduction is a priority Industrial control boards requiring UL E60389 board-in connector Multi-board assemblies (daughter board to main board) Any PCB design targeting 1.6mm board thickness with φ1.0mm through-holes ➡️ JST
