About
Chainsaws cut logs, fallen trees, thick branches and timber quickly with a moving chain. Farmers, landscapers, tree trimmers, sawmill operators and disaster-response teams use them for felling, bucking firewood, clearing storm damage and ripping lumber. How to choose a chainsaw Engine size and bar length: 1.6HP to 2.4HP saws with short bars suit pruning and small trees. 3HP to 6HP saws with longer bars handle large trunks and ripping work. Gasoline, electric or battery: gasoline saws give the most power for remote areas. Electric saws are quieter for yard work near an outlet, and 20V to 40V battery saws are light and start instantly. Pole saws: telescopic pole chainsaws reach high branches while you stay on the ground. Maintenance: a sharp chain cuts safer and faster. Keep files, a sharpener and a spare guide bar ready.
