Demolition Hammer

About

Demolition hammers break concrete, remove tiles, chip plaster and break up slabs and floors. Unlike a rotary hammer, they only chisel and do not drill, so they hit harder. Renovation crews, masons, plumbers and contractors use them for chasing walls, removing floor tiles and breaking slabs and footings. How to choose a demolition hammer Weight class: 5kg to 6kg chipping guns suit tile removal, wall chasing and work at chest height. 10kg to 16kg jack hammers break floors and slabs. Heavier breakers are for roads and thick foundations. Chisel fitting: 17mm hex and SDS-max fit chipping guns. 30mm hex is common on heavier jack hammers. Match your chisels to the tool. Impact energy (joules): higher joules break concrete faster. Around 7J to 8J is typical for chipping guns, and around 28J for 15kg-class jack hammers. Power source: electric hammers suit most sites. Pneumatic and engine-powered breakers work for heavy road and site demolition.
