Hinges hold doors, cabinets, gates and lids in place while letting them swing open and closed. This collection includes door and cabinet hinges plus the jigs and bits used to install them neatly. How to choose a hinge Loose pin hinges: the pin lifts out so a door can be removed without unscrewing it. Lotus, Powerhouse and Stanley carry common door sizes. Ball bearing hinges: 2-ball and 4-ball bearing hinges from Powerhouse, Stanley, Herks and Bernmann turn smoothly and suit heavy or busy doors. Stainless types resist rust. Concealed hinges: hidden inside cabinet doors, with soft-close versions from Powerhouse and Herks that stop doors from slamming. Tee, strap and spring hinges: galvanized tee and strap hinges suit gates and sheds, and spring hinges close a door on their own. Installation tools Concealed hinges need a round cup hole.
