Real Grade (RG) was introduced by Bandai in 2010 for the 30th Anniversary of Gunpla, created to deliver Master Grade style detail and engineering at a compact 1/144 scale. Designed as a premium evolution above High Grade, RG kits feature inner frames, advanced articulation, color-separated parts, and surface detailing inspired by real mechanical structure. Early releases used the Advanced MS Joint system for pre-built articulation, while newer kits feature improved stability and refined proportions. Standard RG kits include marking stickers only, with water-slide decals typically reserved for Premium Bandai or special editions. With panel lining and topcoat, RG models provide premium visual impact and a rewarding build experience without needing a large display footprint.
