The founders of Graypants believe that this diversity in work has resulted in them becoming a ‘jack of all trades’. Now, whether it be creating a fresh collection, engineering a unique installation, or working side-by-side with a client on a special project; Graypants is up for anything. Having started out as an industrial design studio, the brand continues to place emphasis on product design and development. Within their broadening collection of lighting and furnishings, Graypants distributes products across the globe for both retail and business purposes. Despite this, however, the company is committed to abiding by local, conscientious, and environment-friendly production approaches. Graypants is all about custom design. The brand prides itself in offering custom-shaped Graypants lamps, large lights (made out of virtually any material), sculptural acoustic and architectural panel systems, packaging designs, and more. As such, Graypants’ Seattle Studio couples as a custom and prototyping space. While the company focuses on lighting solutions, they also place emphasis on architectural services. After all, the brand was founded by practicing architects. As such, Graypants has, from its origin, incorporated an architectural aspect into all of the brand’s processes and designs. The company, therefore, continuously takes part in creating conceptual ideas, partnering on certain facets of projects, and forming intimate collaborations with clients in order to develop custom buildings.
