About
Choosing the Right Lifting Eye Nut When choosing an eye nut, the first thing to check is the existing threaded bolt or stud it will be fitted to. The thread needs to match, but you'll also need to consider the load, lifting direction and environment it'll be used in. Thread size and type - make sure the eye nut matches the existing bolt or stud Working load limit - choose a lifting eye nut with the right WLL for your load and lifting arrangement Loading direction - some eye nuts are designed primarily for straight lifts, while others allow greater flexibility in the direction of pull Material and finish - stainless steel, galvanised and other finishes are available depending on where the eye nut will be used Brand and design - different options from Crosby, Cartec, RUD and other manufacturers give you a choice depending on the application and budget Check the individual product specifications before ordering, especially where the eye nut will be used for angled loading or as part of a more complex lifting setup. If you're not sure which one you need, speak to the LES team and we'll help you narrow down the options. Eye Nuts for Existing Threaded Fixings Where a threaded bolt or stud is already present, an eye nut gives you a straightforward way to add a lifting or attachment point without requiring a separate threaded eye bolt. At LES, you'll find eye nuts for a range of industrial and lifting applications, including options from Crosby, Cartec and RUD. With different thread sizes and capacities available, you can choose the eye nut that suits both the existing fixing and the load you're working with. Individual product pages include the dimensions, WLL and specifications you need to compare the available options. Eye Nuts vs Eye Bolts The main difference comes down to the fixing. An eye nut has an internally threaded opening and fits onto an existing bolt or threaded stud. An eye bolt has its own threaded shank and screws directly into a suitable threaded hole. Bot
