Ponte de Roma is a good fabric to start experimenting with; it is an easy knit to sew. It is a flattering fabric as it doesn't cling to the body, it is also firm so holds it's shape and resists creasing. It is the perfect fabric for dresses, skirts, slim fit trousers and blazers.
