It's important to embrace synthetic fabric for your swimwear projects. Swim fabric is normally composed of either polyester or nylon with a significant amount of Lycra or Spandex (10 to 20%). Natural fibers such as cotton will absorb water, making it an unpractical choice for swimwear.
