Load Arrestors and Load Arrestor Blocks are designed to arrest a load in the event of a hoist brake failure. Typically, when a hoist brake fails, the load drops to the ground, this can have unthinkable consequences for those below, albeit a rare occurrence with the hoisting technology in today's market- it is still a risk and there for, still a requirement when lifting loads in applications where people below could be at risk from a catastrophic failure above.
