Playmats & Gyms

About

A baby play gym gives your little one a soft, safe space to kick, reach, grab and practice tummy time, with hanging toys right above them to look at and bat. At MacroBaby you can compare baby play gyms and playmats from Tiny Love, Skip Hop, Fisher-Price, Yookidoo and more, online or in person at our Orlando store. Types of Baby Play Gyms and Playmats Activity Gyms A padded mat with arches and hanging toys, made for the newborn and early infant months when babies love to look up, kick and reach. Popular choices include the Tiny Love Magical Tales Black and White Gymini , the Tiny Love Boho Chic Gymini and the Skip Hop Garden Oasis Activity Gym . Kick-and-Play Gyms Gyms with a piano or other interactive panel that responds when your baby kicks, like the Fisher-Price Glow & Grow Kick & Play Gym . Grow-With-Me Playmats Playmats that change as your baby develops, from lying down to tummy time to sitting up, like the Yookidoo 3-in-1 Lay to Sit-Up Playmat with tummy time toys. How to Choose a Baby Play Gym Stage: newborns enjoy high-contrast toys and simple arches; older babies like kick panels, mirrors and toys they can grab. Tummy time support: look for a soft mat and toys you can move to the floor at eye level. Size and storage: check the mat size against your living room and whether the arches fold for storage. Easy cleaning: washable mats make everyday spit-ups less stressful. Tummy Time and Floor Play Tips The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends supervised tummy time every day while your baby is awake, to help build neck, shoulder and arm strength. A play gym makes floor time more fun, but always stay with your baby, and move your baby to a crib or bassinet for sleep: playmats and gyms are for awake time only.
