About

Atreq specialises in speed, agility and quickness (SAQ) equipment — the ladders, hurdles, poles, sleds and parachutes that make up a modern warm-up and conditioning block. It is one of the most used brands by GAA, soccer and rugby strength and conditioning coaches in Ireland. At McSport Ireland we stock the full Atreq range in coach-sized quantities: cones by the 50 pack, hurdle sets at three heights and slalom poles with carry bags. Agility — 8m speed ladders, agility hurdles at 6in, 12in and 18in, slalom poles and sequencing spots Resisted speed — speed sleds with leads and resistance parachutes with bag Marking — spacemarkers in assorted colours, 25 and 50 packs Testing and loading — 3.5m standing long jump mats, reaction balls and 20kg weighted vests Atreq: common questions What hurdle height should I use? 6in (15cm) hurdles suit fast footwork and warm-up patterns, 12in (30cm) is the general-purpose height for hopping and bounding drills, and 18in (50cm) is used for plyometric and hurdle jump progressions. Most squads carry all three. Sled or parachute for speed work? A sled loads acceleration over the first 10 to 20 metres and is better for developing force production. A parachute adds resistance that scales with speed, so it suits maximum-velocity work without altering running mechanics as much. How many cones does a session need? A squad of 20 to 24 running grids and channels typically needs 40 to 50 spacemarkers. Pair with Precision Training bibs and balls for a complete session setup.
