A free standing bag needs no ceiling or wall fixing and can be moved, which suits rented homes, garages and clubs with no suitable beam. A hanging bag swings more naturally and gives better movement practice. See all punch bags to compare. What is a water-filled punch bag? An AquaAir bag uses water instead of packed filling. Water distributes impact evenly, so the bag feels closer to striking a body and is noticeably easier on the wrists and knuckles than a densely packed sand or fabric bag. Do I need gloves with a free standing bag? Yes. Always train in boxing gloves with hand wraps — bag work without them is the most common cause of knuckle and wrist injury.
