Balance beams — foldable beams in purple, blue and pink, sold singly or as beam and mat sets Bars — adjustable gymnastics bars and high bar with mat sets, plus Essential Bar and Mat sets Mats — foldable 50mm and 60mm mats in blue and purple Conditioning — low parallettes and 120 x 60 x 25cm foam wedges for rolls and handstand work I Love Gymnastics: common questions What mat thickness do I need at home? 50mm is suitable for floor work, rolls, bridges and beam dismounts at low height. 60mm gives more protection for higher landings and bar work. For anything landing from height, use a dedicated crash mat — see Beemat safety landing mats. Are folding balance beams safe for home use? Yes, when used on a mat and at floor level. Folding beams sit low to the ground so a fall is short, and the suede-effect top gives grip. Always place a mat either side. What are parallettes used for? Low parallel bars used for handstand work, L-sits, dips and shoulder conditioning. They take pressure off the wrists compared with floor-based holds, which is why they are standard in gymnastics conditioning.
