Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs) are prescribed to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and certain heart conditions. These medications work by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels, leading to lower blood pressure and reduced strain on the heart.
