Cargo electric bikes are a brilliant practical way to transport heavy loads. Designed to have improved braking and more power, cargo e-bikes are specifically made to cope with hauling cargo. There are two main types—front loaders and rear loaders. Front-loaders carry cargo in a front box, making them great for kids or bulky loads. They offer better visibility of your cargo but have a longer wheelbase, which can take a bit of getting used to. Rear loaders have an extended frame at the back for a more traditional ride feel. They’re easy to maneuver and store, making them ideal for everyday urban use. In terms of weight, most cargo e-bikes can handle 135–250 kg, perfect for groceries, gear, or passengers.
