About

Whole house carbon filters treat every faucet in your home by removing chlorine, chloramines, PFAS, VOCs, hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell), and taste/odor compounds. All of our carbon tank filters use Centaur catalytic activated carbon , the premium standard that handles contaminants regular carbon can't, including chloramines and hydrogen sulfide. We carry two styles: non-backwashing (upflow) systems that need no electricity or drain line, and backwashing systems that automatically clean the carbon bed. We also offer carbon filter & water softener packages for homes that need both. To understand how carbon filtration works and which type you need, read our Complete Guide to Carbon Filters or call us at 800-460-5810 . Types of Carbon Filters Choosing between backwashing and non-backwashing comes down to your water conditions and how much maintenance you want: Non-Backwashing Carbon Filters (Upflow) Our non-backwashing carbon filters use a Clack C1190 upflow valve with a Vortech gravel-free tank. Water flows up through the carbon bed in a circular motion, naturally redistributing the media during normal use. No electricity, no drain line, no programming. Just connect it to your plumbing and it works. 1.5 Cubic Foot Clack Non-Backwashing : $1,495 (1 to 3 bathrooms) 2.5 Cubic Foot Clack Non-Backwashing : $1,695 (3 to 5 bathrooms) Backwashing Carbon Filters Our backwashing carbon filters use a Fleck 2510SXT electronic control valve that automatically reverses water flow on a set schedule to clean the carbon bed and flush out trapped sediment. Recommended if your water has sediment or if you want the carbon bed to last as long as possible. 1.5 Cubic Foot Fleck 2510SXT Backwashing : $1,895 (1 to 3 bathrooms) 2.5 Cubic Foot Fleck 2510SXT Backwashing : $2,495 (3 to 5 bathrooms) Not sure which type you need?
