About
A good snorkel lets you breathe easily at the surface, whether you're saving air before a dive, swimming back to the boat or exploring shallow bays. Browse classic, dry, semi-dry and purge snorkels from Scubapro, TUSA, Mares, Cressi, Atomic, Fourth Element and Seac. Which type of snorkel? Classic (J-style) snorkels: simple, rigid or semi-flexible open tubes with no valves, splash guards or purge systems. With nothing to fail, they're a favourite with spearfishers, freedivers and minimalists. Dry snorkels: a top valve seals the tube when you go under, so there's no flooded snorkel to clear when you come back up. Ideal for choppy water and relaxed snorkelling. Semi-dry snorkels: a splash guard at the top deflects spray and small waves. A good all-rounder. Purge snorkels: a one-way valve at the bottom clears water with a quick puff of air. Look for a comfortable mouthpiece and a flexible lower section so the snorkel sits out of your way when you're not using it. Need a mask to go with it? Browse our dive masks .
