About
What Makes Brass Tile Different Brass tile is not a printed metallic glaze. In our collection real brass pieces surround each stone piece on a mesh-mounted sheet at 8 mm thick, which is why it catches light the way real metal does and why it behaves like metal over time. Four things follow from that: 1 A warm metallic line rather than a metallic surface. The brass reads as a metal border around each stone piece, so it adds definition to a backsplash or feature wall without turning the whole wall into metal. 2 The stone does the structural work. Each sheet combines natural stone with brass borders at 8 mm thick, mesh-mounted, so you get the hardness and format range of a stone tile with a metal accent worked into it. 3 Brass develops a patina. Left unsealed it darkens and warms over time, which many people want. Either way it is a finish that changes, not one that fails. 4 It cleans with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive pads and acidic cleaners, which mark the brass and speed up the patina unevenly. Brass Backsplash Tile for Kitchens A brass tile backsplash works hardest as an accent rather than a full wall. Run it behind the range, inside a hood niche, or as a single band above the counter, and let a plainer field tile carry the rest. The brass then reads as a deliberate detail instead of a metallic sheet. Our kitchen backsplash tile collection has the field tiles to pair it with. Brass kitchen backsplash tile pairs most naturally with warm hardware. If your faucet, pulls, or pendant lights are already brass or gold, the tile ties them into the wall rather than competing with them. Against cool chrome or matte black hardware, brass still works but reads as a contrast choice, so keep it to a smaller area. Because the brass sits in a marble ground, the tile carries two colors at once. The white and Thassos grounds keep the room light and let the brass line do the work. The black grounds give a much higher contrast, closer to a jewelry finish. Order samples o
