Modern skirting boards work differently to their period counterparts. Where Victorian profiles rely on curves, steps and decorative relief to define a room, modern profiles rely on proportion and height. The face is simpler - flat, gently rounded, chamfered or subtly stepped - and the visual weight comes from getting the size right for the space rather than from the profile itself. We make our modern skirting boards from MDF at our workshop in Epsom. Seven profiles available to suit every contemporary interior, from the strictly minimal to the quietly detailed.
