About
A plinth block is the small square or rectangular block fitted at the base of a door architrave, sitting between the architrave above it and the skirting board below. It solves a joinery problem that trips up a lot of installations: where the architrave and skirting board meet at the corner of a door opening, the two profiles have to intersect cleanly. A plinth block gives both somewhere to terminate without requiring a complicated scribe or mitre joint. We make ours from MDF at our Epsom workshop. Plinth blocks, architrave blocks and decorative rosettes - all designed to work with our architrave and skirting board ranges and supplied primed ready to paint.
