Troubleshooting Suction Pool Cleaners Here are some common issues that you may come across when operating your suction pool cleaner: Erratic operation - If your suction pool cleaner stutters or starts and stops randomly, then this is probably an issue with your flow valve. Check it to see if something is stuck there or replace the flow valve if damaged. Not getting enough pressure - If your suction pool cleaner isn’t getting enough pressure, check its connection to the vacuum plates , check your pool cleaner hoses for leaks, clean out your skimmer and pump baskets, and check your filter’s pressure (it might need cleaning).
