A useful kids helmet shortlist begins with a soft tape measure. Colour and design can wait until the child's current head circumference has been matched to the size ranges on the helmets that may fit. Measure Before You Read the Size Label Head circumference is more useful than an age label because children of the same age can need different sizes. Use a soft tape measure around the full circumference of the head in centimetres. Keep the tape level and comfortably firm, then repeat the measurement to check the result. An older measurement or a broad toddler helmet label should not replace the current number.
