The two source-capture methods: — Downdraft extraction — air is pulled down through a perforated work surface, drawing formalin vapor away from the breathing zone; suited to open-floor benches. — Backdraft extraction — a rear plenum captures vapor at the back of the work surface; suited to benches placed against a wall. — Integrated capture — extraction is part of the station rather than a separate fume hood, keeping capture close to the specimen. Construction & standards Ventilated workstations are welded from 304 or 316 stainless steel with seamless welds and rounded edges for fast disinfection and chemical resistance.
