Pollucite is a fascinating mineral belonging to the zeolite family. It is primarily composed of cesium, sodium, aluminum, and silicon, with the chemical formula (Cs, Na)₂Al₂Si₄O₁₂·2H₂O. This mineral is significant as a major source of cesium, which is used in various industrial applications, including oil drilling and electronics. Pollucite typically appears colorless or white, but it can also be found in shades of gray, pink, blue, or violet. It was first discovered on the island of Elba, Italy, in 1846.
