About
Wall lights can do more than add light to an empty wall. The right fixture can provide local illumination, highlight a feature or add another layer to a room's overall lighting. Before buying, decide what the light needs to do. General or ambient lighting: Use a wall fixture to add another layer of illumination alongside the main ceiling light. Accent lighting: Use directional or up-down lights to draw attention to a wall, artwork, architectural feature or decorative area. Reading or task lighting: Choose an adjustable wall light when you need to direct the light towards a specific area. Decorative lighting: Select a fixture where the shape, finish and light pattern are an important part of the room's appearance. The same wall light does not have to perform every job. The benefit is flexibility: the light can be aimed where it is needed instead of staying fixed in one direction. Compact Wall Lights Compact Wall Lights work well in corridors, niches, staircases and smaller wall sections where a larger fixture may feel out of proportion. They are also useful when you want a subtle lighting layer without making the fixture the main visual feature.
