About
TADF dopant materials are organic molecules that efficiently convert triplet excitons into light by using small amounts of heat, enabling nearly 100% internal quantum efficiency without heavy metals. TADF dopants feature distinct donor-acceptor structures that facilitate a process called reverse intersystem crossing (RISC), allowing triplet energy to become singlet energy and emit light, a key breakthrough for high-performance displays The donor-acceptor structure can create a small energy gap between singlet and triplet excited states, allowing triplet excitons to be thermally activated back to the singlet state to achieve near 100% internal quantum efficiency, rivalling phosphorescent materials, especially crucial for blue light. TADF dopant materials include blue, green, yellow, orange, and red TADF emitters, and also high color purity MR-TADF emitters. Photoluminescence refers to radiative emissions where the absorbance of a photon is followed by the emission of a lower energy photon. The main empirical difference between fluorescence and phosphore
