Andis makes clippers and grooming tools for salon groomers and for owners doing touch-ups at home. The range at PeekAPaw covers corded and cordless clippers, UltraEdge detachable blades, snap-on attachment combs, nail grinders and nail clippers, slicker and pin brushes, a stainless steel comb, a deshedding tool and blade care products. Which clipper suits you depends on the workload. The RACD is the home model, with a maintenance-free motor, push-button blade release, two blades and six attachment combs, aimed at single to medium coats. The AGC brushless two-speed runs at 3000 and 3800 rpm for salon-length days, and the Pulse ZR II is the cordless five-speed, supplied with two removable batteries at around three hours' run time each. All of them take detachable blades, so the blade number does more of the work than the clipper does. UltraEdge sizes here run 10, 15, 30 and 40, plus 4FC, 5FC and 7FC finish-cut. Attachment combs then set the length over the top: the nine-piece small set covers 1.5mm to 14mm, the eight-piece large set 16mm to 25mm. One care note that quietly shortens blade life when it is ignored: never wash a blade in water, because it corrodes the metal. Brush the hair off, run the clipper and apply two or three drops of Andis Clipper Oil across the cutting blade, then wipe away the excess.
