The range covers the practical end of fishkeeping rather than the display end: it is what you buy to get a tank running and keep it running, at prices that make a second or third tank realistic. The line-up splits into EC Series aquariums (33L and 66L complete units with a built-in top filter and LED hood), filtration (internal filters, the SP submersible series, air-driven sponge filters and activated carbon), air pumps , nets and breeders , thermometers , artificial plants and tank maintenance tools. Sizing a filter — aim for turnover of four to six times your tank volume per hour, and err upward for goldfish and cichlids, which produce far more waste than community tropicals. Fine-finned fish such as bettas and fancy goldfish struggle in strong flow, so size down or baffle the outlet for those. A sponge filter is the right choice for fry and shrimp tanks, because it has no intake that can draw them in. What the tanks do not include — the EC Series comes with a filter, media and lighting, but no heater.
