Burgess Excel is the brand's small-animal feeding range, and it is what PeekAPaw stocks from Burgess: high-fibre nuggets for rabbits and guinea pigs, built on grass meal, in bags from 1.5kg up to 10kg. Every recipe is one uniform nugget rather than a muesli-style mix, so your rabbit or guinea pig cannot pick out the parts it likes and leave the fibre behind. Just as important, these nuggets are a complementary food rather than a complete diet on their own — hay or fresh grass should still make up the bulk of what a rabbit or guinea pig eats each day, with a measured portion of nuggets alongside it. Owners moving across from a mix are often surprised how small the daily nugget portion is. Choose by age and situation. Junior & Dwarf Nuggets carry extra protein and prebiotics for growing rabbits and suit dwarf breeds; the adult recipes — Mint, Oregano, Natures Blend and Indoor — cover roughly 4 months to 5 years; Lite is the weight-control option; and Mature adds glucosamine for rabbits aged 5 and over.
