FAQs What is the rule for using crutches? If you are using full-length crutches, the crutch should sit around an inch or two below your armpits when you are standing up straight. The handgrips should be at the same level as the tip of your hips. If using elbow crutches, the rest should be just below the elbow with the handles at hip height.
