About
Hibbertia 'Guinea Flower' Plants Often called Guinea Flowers, the Hibbertia range don't mind wind and can also tolerate salt spray which makes them a popular choice for coastal gardens. Perhaps the most well known of the Hibbertia is Hibbertia scandens . It's a versatile option for your outdoor garden because it can be used as a climbing plant (why it is sometimes called Snake Vine) or a low maintenance ground cover. Hibbertia scandens is well suited to planting near pools or on coastal slopes and produces large yellow flowers in late Spring. Another Hibbertia that produces yellow flowers is Hibbertia serpyllifolia which is a fast growing ground cover that can even flower year round.
