About

Edwardian Britain was one of the richest countries in the world, a global financial and trading power. In 1901, there were 5.9 million houses in the UK, by 1914, there were just under 7.2 million, an increase of over 20%. This building boom took place mainly in the suburbs surrounding the country's cities and towns. Huge amounts of Edwardian terraced and semi-detached houses were built. All of these originally would have had, the full set of decorative plaster mouldings, plaster cornice, plaster ceiling roses, and often plaster corbels and panel mouldings as well.
