Replacing your Suzuki outboard timing belt is a fairly simple task, particularly if your engine is straight and not in V alignment. You can do this whenever you are performing your spring launch service and your timing belt is close to 500 hours. You can also do some additional preventive maintenance by cleaning your engine under those gears, checking for leaks near the camshaft or seals, and repainting the paint if necessary. Please have in mind that many Suzuki outboard engines are shared with Johnson and Evinrude. Thus, some of the Suzuki engines have the same application on some E-TEC and other BRP models.
