External Wastegates

About

Gain total control of your turbo with quality external wastegates: The external wastegate is an excellent solution for those who want to control boost levels on their turbocharger. Our external wastegates are an affordable way to add extra boost pressure while keeping costs down. The external wastegate is designed to be mounted in line with the exhaust pipe and act as an electronically controlled bypass valve for the air being forced out of the turbocharger's turbine housing. This reduces boost pressure by allowing excess exhaust gas to escape directly into the atmosphere rather than back into the engine's intake manifold, which can cause serious damage if left unchecked. The purpose of a wastegate is to prevent over boosting a turbocharged engine (which may result in catastrophic failure). Excess pressure from excessive boost causes gases trapped inside your motor to expand rapidly, like when you blow up a balloon quickly or shake up a carbonated soft drink bottle vigorously. This rapid expansion creates heat that will eventually destroy your motor through overheating and detonation (also known as knocking) unless it can be released safely outside of your engine bay. The Turbosmart range is easy to install and simple enough that even first-time tuners will have no problem getting it set up correctly. You don't need any special tools or equipment to get this installed either; just some basic hand tools are required for installation, making this product perfect for those who aren't experienced working on cars or tuning them themselves. The Turbosmart range is our most popular option. Its compact design allows it to fit in almost any engine bay without being obtrusive or taking up too much space. They come with all the same features as our other models, including a stainless steel internal valve and CNC machined billet aluminium housing for maximum durability and reliability at an unbeatable price point.
