About
In 1837, the U.S. Mint began striking new 90% silver dimes designed by Christian Gobrecht. Unlike previous U.S. coinage, his design showed a full Liberty seated on a rock. She holds a shield in her right hand and a Liberty cap on a pole in her left. The reverse depicts a wreath around the denomination "One Dime", along with "United States of America." The design was modified several times during the series, creating five varieties. Shop Seated Liberty dimes by year, grade, and Mint location at Profile Coins with a 14-day satisfaction guarantee.
