About
From 2007-2016, the U.S. Mint issued new Presidential dollar coins to honor each of America’s presidents in order of service. Four designs were released each year, but after 2011, coins were struck for collectors only and not for circulation. Each obverse depicts the featured president, while a common reverse shows the Statue of Liberty. Coins minted 2007-2008 featured edge inscriptions bearing each coin’s date, mint mark and the mottoes in God we trust and e pluribus unum. However, in God we trust was moved to the obverse in 2009.
