About
(Zingher mioga) A hardy ginger that grows to 4 feet tall. The new shoots are blanched and eaten and the young leaves are edible. The white flower buds which emerge in late summer are used for tempurah or sliced and added as a garnish for salads or sushi. This plant is unlike the ginger that you eat the large rhizomes. Hardy to USDA Zones 7-10. Prefers partial shade and well drained soil with plenty of humus.
