Aptware, exclusively made in Apt, France, is an iconic handmade faience ceramic with a characteristic marbleised pattern. Individually produced by a skilled female artisan according to techniques from the eighteenth century that have been handed down through generations. Today’s pieces are made according to the same designs and techniques as hundreds of years ago, now antiques of today. The instantly recognisable patterns are inspired by the mountainous terrain, richly coloured soil and flowing rivers of the local region.
