About
Churches got the best of everything — quartersawn oak, carved walnut, leaded glass, bronze built to be touched every Sunday for eighty years. This is what came out of those rooms: Gothic pew screens up to fifteen feet, chandeliers made for ceilings nobody builds anymore, arched transoms, steeple-tipped hinges, and pew number plaques from the oldest consecrated church in Cuyahoga County. These pieces were made to hold a room together and outlast everyone in it. They're still doing it, as headboards, feature walls, bars, and dining rooms. Character, scale, and craftsmanship you cannot buy new.
