About

Bezel engagement rings wrap a thin rim of metal around the center stone in place of prongs. These settings come as full and half bezels, solitaires, halos and vintage designs with milgrain, and they hold the center you choose in the next step. Most designs take round, oval, emerald, cushion, pear and other shapes, in gold, platinum or Silvadium, a tarnish-resistant sterling silver. How a bezel holds the center In a bezel setting, the jeweler shapes a band of metal to the stone's outline and presses it over the edge all the way around. The rim protects the girdle, the stone's thin outer edge, from knocks and leaves nothing to snag on hair or clothing. A half bezel covers two sides and leaves the other two open, so more light reaches the stone and more of its outline shows. Bezel styles in this collection A bezel solitaire is the cleanest look: one stone in a smooth rim on a plain band. Vintage designs add milgrain beading along the rim and band, and some add filigree or engraving. Halo designs set a circle of lab-grown diamond accents around the bezel for extra sparkle. Others add pave or channel-set lab-grown diamonds along the band, bezel-set side stones, or a three stone layout. Shape, color and metal Most designs take emerald, round, radiant, princess, marquise, cushion, pear, oval, heart and asscher centers. Pointed shapes such as pear, marquise and princess gain the most from a bezel, which covers the tips that prongs leave exposed. Many designs also come for a fancy blue, green, pink or yellow center, and some for black. Every setting comes in white, yellow and rose gold, platinum or silver. A white metal rim blends with a colorless center, while yellow or rose gold gives it a warm outline. Made to order Each ring is made for you in 10–15 days.
