Michael is the Founder and Executive Director of the Rochester Arc + Flame Center , a nationally recognized school for welding, smithing, glass arts, and other skilled trades. Under his leadership, Arc + Flame has grown into a destination for both hobbyists and aspiring professionals, known for its exceptional instructors, immersive curriculum, and community-focused culture. His commitment to accessible, enjoyable craft education has helped thousands of students build real skills and confidence. In 2025, Michael expanded his educational reach by becoming owner of the Rochester Brainery , a beloved community education space offering classes in arts, crafts, technology, cooking, and personal development. As he transitioned into this role, Michael focused on meeting with teachers, supporting instructors, and strengthening the organization’s mission of welcoming people to learn something new in a fun, friendly environment.
