Flying Lanterns , also known as Sky Lanterns or Wish Lanterns , are airborne paper lanterns that are constructed from oiled rice paper on a bamboo frame. They contain a small candle or fuel cell composed of a waxy flammable material. When lit, the flame heats the air inside the lantern, thus lowering its density and causing the lantern to rise into the air. The sky lantern is airborne for as long as the flame stays alight. Then it sinks back to the ground. Sky Lanterns make a beautiful addition to Weddings, Memorials or other celebrations or special occasions. Rocket Sky Lanterns metal-free and 100% biodegradable.
