A cheek block mounts flat against the mast, deck or spar to turn a rope neatly where a standard block will not fit, which makes it one of the handiest fittings on the boat. Whether you are leading a halyard down the mast, turning a control rope across the deck or building part of a purchase system, the right cheek block keeps everything running cleanly and stops ropes chafing where they change direction. We stock cheek blocks from Harken and Allen in sizes from 16mm up to 57mm, so you can match the block to your rope diameter and the load it will see. That includes lightweight air and composite blocks for lightly loaded control ropes, larger plain bearing blocks for halyards, and Harken Carbo ratchet and Ratchamatic versions for higher loads where you want the rope to hold under tension.
