Floating Rope Floating rope, sometimes known as Floatline is a lightweight 8 plait single braid multi-filament polypropylene rope which has no core. Usually in bright colours this rope is ideal as safety lines and is popular with sailors for their dinghies, kayakers and paddle boarders. Floatline also makes a perfect toe rope for ribs and powerboats as it floats and won't get stuck in the prop.
